What a fantastic day on Paulina! With great clients, I couldn’t have asked for better day with perfect weather. While the main launch ramps aren’t open yet—maybe just a few more weeks—you can still use the small boat launch ramp. I launched from the lodge, and let me tell you, if you choose that spot, make sure to get there early because it fills up quickly!
The Kokanee were biting from top to bottom, but we had our best luck trolling at depths of 30′ to 50′. Most of the jigging action happened down by the red slide and over by Little Crater on the lake. We reeled in 24 fish—most were around 11-12 inches! The water temperature was a brisk 42° by mid-day, and it will only get better from here.
