This past week at Paulina Lake has been an absolute blast! Friday was a bit chilly, as the clouds didn’t lift until around 10:30, making it quite cold in the morning. The fish are averaging a nice size of 11-14 inches, with a few smaller 6-8 inchers mixed in. But don’t worry; we’re all about catch and release—those little guys get to swim free for another day!
We decided to switch things up and use a long line instead of downriggers. We’re letting our lines drift out 40 to 60 feet with just the right amount of weight—2 to 3 ounces—while cruising at 1.2 to 1.5 mph. Our go-to lures? LURED bead-em-up spinners and Full Throttle Bugs! I have to say, blue balls and Bloody Decks are my favorites—they work so well!
We’re pulling in limits left and right, and the excitement can get wild! I made sure to bring two nets because there are times when doubles and triples happen, turning it into a fun scramble, with Sunriver Resort filling up with vacationers. If you would like to book a guided trip
You’ll want to act fast because dates are filling up quickly! Head to Dayoneoutdoors.com and ask for James, and we will set you up for a fantastic fishing adventure! Trust me, you won’t want to miss out on this fun
